In house construction, a thermal bridge is the part of the wall that allows thermal conduction, the transmission of temperature, from one space to another. The Tstud™ provides a gap in the wall to diminish that thermal transfer. By eliminating the thermal bridge in a wall, the space inside a home is thus virtually unaffected by the temperature outside. This allows HVAC systems and other appliances to run less which lowers BTU consumption and carbon footprint.
