In a resident-owned community (ROC), homeowners form a non-profit business called a cooperative. Each household is a Member of the cooperative, which owns the land and manages the business that is the community. Members continue to own their own homes individually and an equal share of the land beneath the entire neighborhood

ROC USA was launched in May 2008 by national and regional nonprofits that joined together to serve one mission: To make quality resident ownership viable nationwide and to expand economic opportunities for homeowners in manufactured (mobile) home communities. ROC USA builds strong national and regional relationships in support of Resident Owned Communities as it looks to realize its vision of a country in which the owners of efficient and affordable homes are economically secure in healthy and socially vibrant resident-owned communities.
